Who is Amel NAÏMY ?

The art of detail

Born in Reims (France) on August 25, 1974, of Moroccan parents, I have retained that exquisite taste for beautiful materials that I acquired in childhood: touch, the way materials fall, refinement of meticulous assemblies, that of colors, subtle perfumes, and the requirement of those who do not count neither their time or their pain to achieve the most accurate, the finest. I owe this particular sensitivity to a mother who inspired me, a craftswoman wholly dedicated to excellence in the fields of haute couture, embroidery, and leather goods; a lady who was able to pass on to me a passion for transformation of material, accompanied by an artistic gesture going beyond the mere technical nature of manual execution.

After studying literature, I entered the Bazeilles (France), hotel school and began my professional career in the luxury hotel industry, working for Intercontinental hotel group (Intercontinental hotels and resorts, Crown and resorts, Holiday inn), a large American chain. The diversity of high-end services offered to a demanding clientele and my love of art led me to perfect my skills at the Academy of Fashion and Cutting in Paris.

"Persevere in your art, Mademoiselle: it is your signature"

Yves Saint Laurent

I landed my first job within the industry as a multi-tasker assistant and then as a pattern maker in Yves Saint Laurent’s and Christian Dior’s in the early 2000s. Intuitive and with perseverance, the personalities I had the privilege to train with gave me wings. I decided to set up my own design studio in Reims (the home of champagne) in 2002 and my own fashion house in Paris in 2003, on the Champs Elysées.

Seasons passed (winter and summer collections), discussions and meetings too, I chose to complete my technical background in the fields of luxury hairstyling, studio makeup, fashion accessories (leather goods, jewelry), and perfumes. The diversity of my professional experiences provided me with global expertise in the luxury industry. I could then put my knowledge of image to the service of my clients, combined with a broad expertise in fashion and styling, hair and make-up, morphology and gestures. My range of technical skills and my know-how are all assets to seize, with requirements always and in an expert versatility, which makes the singularity of an order. I am driven by a perfectionist temperament, and watch over the quality of each rendering, paying close attention to details, which are, in my view, the true mark of luxury. I keep preciously to mind, like a motto, these words of Yves Saint Laurent during the awarding of a prize: “Persevere in your art, Mademoiselle: it is your signature.”

My visitors are welcomed to my design studio by a little red blouse with white polka dots, that my mother created for me when I was two. This allusion/tribute in itself constitutes an invitation to share with me what this child's clothing symbolizes: the refinement of an outfit that reveals, enhances, and makes beautiful. That everlasting search for harmony between a hairstyle, a complexion, colors, and a cut. Meticulous attention to detail, the art of assembly. That very challenge of capturing the essence of a person, to sublimate their uniqueness.

This little blouse is a tribute to the essential values that have been an ongoing legacy from my mother, and from different personalities I got close to: Loyalty, respect for people and cultures in their diversity, a sense of effort, and a love of work well done.

My ambition is to contribute to a world where men and women share, create, and achieve together. I appreciate nuance, harmony, sobriety, and a certain level of audacity, when it is expressed with the utmost dignity. I know how to listen, guess, imagine, and realize what seems best for the other.

This photo, placed at the entrance of my design studio, is an allusion to my childhood and the name my parents chose to give me at birth: Amel - hope. A source of inspiration, this photo reminds me of all that I owe to my mother, a craftswoman of excellence in haute couture, embroidery and leather goods. I see in it the powerfulness of a transmission of knowledge and life skills. The power of a passion, that of pure elegance and refinement.

In a world where fashion diktats are all too numerous, I am interested in all shapes and fervently take up the challenges of atypical morphologies: each body has its own particular beauty. Whatever the nature of the order, I set the bar high for my deliverables.

My creations celebrate elegance, refinement, a way of being in the world and a state of mind: that of a total commitment to the service of those who entrust me with their projects.

I invite you, with me, to better affirm and enhance, what makes you unique. To experience elegance and refinement, with the absolute privilege of the art of detail.

My career on in a few key dates

My creative laboratory is a place without a clock. A place where ideas abound and fabrics speak (for themselves). I love the contact with excellent materials and the satisfaction of a job well done.

LOOK BRISTO

Haute couture is the quintessence of craftsmanship and imagination. It allows me to explore the boundaries of fashion and creation in its purest form.

Revealing femininity by choosing the cut of a garment according to one’s bodily allows us to create harmony and continuity between oneself and one's outfit.

I like to work with white, a symbol of sobriety and purity.

Perseverance and passion characterize my work. I like to succeed despite the obstacles that get in my way, particularly numerous in the fashion and luxury industries.

Before the start of a collection, there is the effervescence behind the scenes that I love so much because it is a unique, exciting and furtive moment where elegance is expressed and is visible.

Sans-titre

Mr. Yves Saint Laurent has always been committed to developing a timeless style that is infinitely variable. It is in this sense that he created the modern woman's wardrobe: tuxedo, safari jacket, trouser suit, pea coat,...

I am passionate about the work of artisanal leather goods, those that are made in limited series or individually. The privilege of distinguishing yourself by wearing a unique and high quality piece of clothing.

Ebony buttons, the fluidity, and freshness of the material. Detail is everything. My mother passed this concern for precision and detail on to me, essential in haute couture.

Beauty expert for the Chanel house at the George V Palace in Paris. I like to paint, which brings me much ease in my make-up. The harmony of colors and textures allows for subtlety. After discussion with my client, I work with my instinct and let my sensitivity express itself.

Creating implies having the courage to move forward, sometimes going against the tide. Whether it's behind the wheel of a race car or in my studio, I love a challenge!

Each project is unique and has us grow. My ambition for the coming years can meet yours!
